Google is marking the 51st anniversary of “Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood” today.
- U.S. Google users were greeted with a still frame depicting Fred Rogers, the show’s namesake, on a television screen in front of children.
- Clicking the image activated a full stop-motion video version inspired by the show’s iconic open of a model neighborhood.
- Google partnered with Fred Rogers Productions and Bix Pix Entertainment to produce the nearly two minute long stop action animation segment.
- Google also posted behind the scenes footage and conceptual drawings of the video clip’s development.
